Party friends

I'm trying to have fun at a party with Ruby.
I was hoping to meet Kia there. She's a streamer I've seen on the screen.
But we just heard, she already left.

We should have gotten here earlier.

Who could have guessed, she would really come here so early, but only stay for such a short time?

Maybe I should go out and look for her?

We already came here about half an hour ago.
And she hasn't been there when we came.
Most likely she's already back in her room for some time.

I really feel disappointed now.

You're right. And since she needs to get up early tomorrow, she definitely won't come back.

The party isn't a huge party. Not much more than a dozen people.
I didn't see most of them yet.

Every few minutes single persons come or leave again.
Currently they usually come.

It's also a pretty quiet party. There are multiple well illuminated rooms.
The music isn't that loud, so it's possible to talk with each other properly.
People are standing around in small groups.

But most of them already are in conversations. And I don't know how to get into one.
And my idea to stay with Ruby also didn't work, since I don't know anymore where she is.

Other people just seem to get into groups of people so naturally. Some also switch from one to another group.
It looks so simple, but whenever I approach a group, I just keep standing nearby them and don't really care what they have to say.
I didn't get it from the start after all.

So I go to a different group every few minutes or just sit down alone for some time, hoping someone would come to me instead.
Maybe I should really just leave. Ruby doesn't seem to mind anymore.

Suddenly I notice someone. She's Renia, another streamer I've watched a few times.
She made videos about life in different places. Even about life in a village similar to mine.
It's very interesting. And she can be pretty entertaining.

I wonder if she also knows Kia. They are both streamers after all. But their videos are pretty different.
She's not yet taking part in a conversation, but it looks like she's approaching another group of people.
That's my chance. I immediately rush toward her and try to get into a conversation.

I start to have fun.

After a while, Renia wants to leave already.
So I also leave and accompany her for a while on our way back home without caring about Ruby now.

I'm happy. Visiting the party was worth it.
